DHA & EPA
The long chain omega-3 fatty acid, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), is a major lipid in the brain recognized as essential for normal brain function. In animals, low brain DHA results in impaired learning and behavior. In infants, DHA is important for optimal visual and cognitive development.

Nervous system – these omega 3 fats are important for both the structure and the functioning of the brain and nervous system. Omega 3 supplementation is associated with improvement in cognitive function, depression, and other mental health and behavioral issues, including ADHD and aggression.

Anti-inflammatory actions of omega 3 fatty acids may help with inflammatory conditions such as eczema.

Lutein & Zeaxanthin
Lutein is a potent antioxidant that scavenges free radicals. Lutein may protect the retina of the eye from the toxic effects of exposure of the retina to sunlight. The antioxidant benefit of Lutein may help filter out damaging ultraviolet light protecting against age-related macular degeneration and cataract formation.
Lutein and zeaxanthin may be protective against eye disease because they absorb damaging blue light that enters the eye. In pediatric brains, the relative contribution of lutein to the total carotenoids is twice that found in adults, accounting for more than half the concentration of total carotenoids. The greater proportion of lutein in the pediatric brain suggests a need for lutein during neural development as well. It is an important nutrient for good vision and healthy eye function and may improve visual function, especially the macular, retina and lens of the eye.
